Before we amend details about an article, such as chapter title or article length, you must check back with the Section/Volume Editor to make sure that they agree with these changes.
Change to length of article
The article length is determined by Elsevier in consultation with the Editors. It should be treated as a guideline in that your final article may be a little shorter or longer than the length stipulated in your Contributor Agreement.
If you feel that the length mentioned in your agreement is too long or too short for your material to be covered to your satisfaction contact the Development Editor explaining your reasons for wishing to make changes to your article length. The Development Editor will contact the Editors on your behalf who will consider your request. If they agree with your decision you will be sent a new Contributor Agreement with the modified length included.
Change to title of article
The article title is determined by the editors in consultation with Elsevier. It should be treated as a working title as it may be modified at a later stage to ensure that the title fits into the overall structure of the Work.
If you feel that the article title mentioned in your agreement does not adequately describe the topic covered in your article contact the Development Editor providing your reasons for wishing to make changes to your article title. The Development Editor will contact the Editors on your behalf who will consider your request. If they agree with your decision you will be sent a new Contributor Agreement with the modified title included.
